| Image Editing |
Image editing is the digital manipulation of an image (for example a photograph) with the purpose of altering the appearance of the image for some purpose. The image editing that we carry out is for the purpose of showing how a scene would have looked (did look) without one or more features present.
After editing both images (original and edited version) are printed on a photographic printer. This is similar to the process now available through Kodak stores (they call it Kodak Image Magic) that can make photographic copies without the negatives of the photograph and remove red eye from photos.
Case Example: A traffic accident occurred in a residential street when a motorist drove past the end of the street and into an embankment. The street was poorly lit, it was at night and raining. After the accident Council installed signs at the end of the street to warn motorists. Using image editing we were able to show how the scene would have looked without the new signs. Daylight photographs were used.
